NHS Restorative Referral Services

NHS referrals for restorative dentistry (endodontics, periodontics and prosthodontics) must be sent via Rego and these will be routed to King’s Dental Institute, Guy’s Hospital or the Eastman Dental Hospital, all in London. Details on the very limited East Kent service can be obtained here.

All referrals are triaged, so to avoid your referrals being declined it is important to be aware of the referral criteria and the information you need to send via Rego. It is not enough to simply tick boxes or select options on Rego. Restorative referrals always require clinical information to be sent.

Further information on the referral criteria can be found here.

The NHS NEC (REGO) Dental Electronic Referral Service (DERS) service also covers NHS referrals for:

Oral Surgery
Oral Pathology
Urgent (two week wait) for suspected malignancy
Orthodontics
Sedation (for oral surgery or routine/restorative dentistry)
Special Care Dentistry (Community/salaried service)
Salivary gland/duct dysfunction/dry mouth
Facial Pain
Temporomandibular joint disorder
Trauma
